Case Study
Shangri-la is a redesign of a fictional hotel company. The main objective was to redesign the website to reflect a more consistent elegance and simplicity. The new website design creates a clean and minimal aesthetic, while maintaining the type of experience they aim to give their clients. The design reflects their mission to give their clients a sense of peace, calmness, and tranquility.
Shangri-la’s website redesign is also representative of the hotel’s own renovations towards modernizing their hotel. The redesign includes simplifiying the navigation bar, changing the landing page to become more reflective of the new aesthetic they wanted to pursue, and reworking the news page to highlight a better user experience. Each page provided a new challenge in the design—and that is, trying to best execute a way to elevate the user’s experience, without taking away from the hotel’s main function.
The Shangri-la website represents a leap into the hotel’s future, as they step forward into the modern’s world’s more minimalist and simplistic nature. Their redesign also reflects a commitement they have to providing a tranquil experience for their customers, both new and returning. They are here to usher in a new wave of clients to captivate their senses to a renowned experience at their luxurious sanctuary.
